Remember in October when I said I hoped to publish a regular lusts list? It wasn’t so regular, was it? I figured it was time for one after some posts that were on the more serious side. Besides, with the air turning warmer (here in LA, at least), spring is in the air, and with that comes a desire for a refresh—of self and of home. Here are some of my favorites for March. Let me know what you think of them, and what’s inspiring you this month.
I can’t remember the last time I ironed. Which isn’t to say I don’t like a blouse. Which is why I love Boden. Boden regularly puts out a great selection of jersey blouses, so I can have something that looks a little dressier than a tee, but not worry about it wrinkling. This one from their spring catalog caught my eye. Look closely: those are giraffes! I’d wear this one with jeans, sandals, and big gold earrings.
I’ve written before of my love of Rothy’s. Well, it appears to be never-ending. This season they’ve come out with a new style—a sort of mary-jane tied with ribbon. Weirdly, I’m most attracted to the cinnamon color. I say weirdly, because this color didn’t appeal to me at all in the regular point shoe, but there’s something about the ribbon that makes this color perfect, making it an easy addition to my March favorites. It’s feminine and neutral, but different enough to make it special. And it still has that Rothy’s comfort. Use this link for $20 off any pair!
I’m big on ease with makeup these days. Usually I use just a single eyeshadow, maybe two, and I’ve always been a fan of anything I can apply with my finger. Now Glossier has come out with Skywash, a cream shadow with doe foot applicator that dries matte. It comes in a pretty range of colors influenced by the desert, and I already have a few in my shopping cart.
You know I love scent, so I had to have one on my March favorites list. Sylvanie Delacourte, for years a perfumer for many major brands, now has her own line. I like her approach: She releases one range at a time centered around a single note, with each scent being distinct in style and type – Oriental, floral, fruity, etc. She began with musk, then came out with a vanilla range. Her newest revolves around orange blossom, which happens to be one of my favorite scents. I’m lucky to be surrounded by the aroma in the cooler months in LA. I chose Ozkan, which appeals to me on every level: the uplifting orange blossom, comforting tonka bean, and sexy patchouli and leather.
The other great thing about Delacourte is that she offers sample packs of each range (five fragrances) for just $10 plus shipping. Use this link to order your sample pack, and if you later order one of her scents, you’ll get a bonus refillable travel size.
I first saw these lamps at Liberty in London, but it turns out that they’re sold in a lot of places. I never thought I’d be eyeing a mouse lamp. But there’s something just so charming and whimsical about them. They come in white, black and gold. I think one of the gold ones would look great on my coffee table.
Then there’s this pillow. I mean, c’mon. Can you look at this pillow and not smile? It just screams spring to me. It almost makes me want to sneeze.
I hope to bring you another lusts list to you soon—for real, this time!
